This is my story.
The first three years of my life were likely with a family where I had some leash training but no boundaries or limitations and certainly no leadership, so I learned to lead and protect the family.
So eventually I was thrown out on the street where I was found, and ended up in the Bell County animal shelter.
Life on the street is tough so I only knew fight or flight and therefor I was going to be euthanized.
An Animal Rescue put me in a shelter where I was kept for 4 years with little exercise or stimulation.
At the dog rehabilitation center I have learnt to be with other non-dominant dogs and non-insecure dogs.
I love humans, never bit one but if I do not trust them I will chose flight.
A human I respect can put a leash on me and I will follow their hand signal instructions with leash, without a leash in a back yard if I am not too excited.
A human I respect and trust and see as my calm and assertive pack leader I will follow and never leave.
Humans made me excited so what I need is a calm human to help me tone down my excitement. No baby talk, clear commands, a lot of daily exercise. I do like to play fetch with a tennis ball.
